The applications and fees of Pharaons 2009 are finalized. Like last year, all Egyptian participants in all categories will enjoy very attractive rates specially for the early bookers. Pls find attached the applications with all the details inside. You will find also the new "accompanying people" formula which is tailored for those die-hard fans who want to follow the rally bivouac to bivouac. Of course, these are not assistants and any assistance given to racers by the accompanying people will unfortunetaly lead to the exclusion of the assisted racer.

Anyway, once decided, pls fill the relevant application and send it directly to the ever helpful costanza (costi@jvd.it) and copy to me. The total of your team fees (including any missing names) should be transfered to JVD account in Italy (account attached in application) before the 15th of July for early booking and before the 31st of August for late registration. Unfortuantely, no applications will be accepted after that date. If you are missing a few names in your team, pls send the applications with the names you do have, pay for the full team before your relevant deadline and complete the names by maximum 31st of August.

Well the Pharaons 2008 have come and gone. 7 Egyptian teams raced in a record participation and impressive results were achieved. For the first time, we had first overall in diesel category and 9th overall by Zanaty, tenth overall by Sirgany and 12th overall by Azzam. The preparation for the next Pharaons should start immediately to improve on these numbers and results.

Keeping with this direction several projects are put in motion:
1- First and foremost, The Egyptian Federation for Motor Sports was founded last July thanks to the efforts of many-a-passionate individual. It was high time that Egypt had a federation to support and look after our sport. All those interested to register in the federation as rally drivers or autocross drivers, pls send me an email with your contacts and experience. All are welcome. This is a recommended first step to start building our database of "players" that practice motor sports in Egypt.

2- The federation is contacting all the other Arab motor sports federations to get their race calendars and their support to start sending Egyptian teams to represent Egypt abroad in all categories (speed challenges, hill climbs, bajas, dirt rallies and of course cross country rallies)

3- The rally school is back and is organized this time by the federation. Some details will be adjusted and improved after our first experience early this year including a first aid course in conjunction with the school. Same as last year, we will be meeting more or less once a week for theoretical sessions and going out to the desert in weekends for practical sessions. The whole process is to last 3 months. The orientation meeting will be held in the Automobile club on the 22nd of November. A facebook group is created for the school. If interested, pls join the group to follow times and schedules.

4- Last but not least, the federation will organize the first ever Egyptian Rally Cup. This will be a 2 day rally in baja format scheduled to be held on the 21 and 22 of February. Some of the features are short stages yet technically satisfying, a modified car category and a standard car category, doctor cars on track,... we are even investigating satellite tracking online. The race will also feature a prologue. Pls start preparing your cars and contact me if you need to inquire about minimum safety regulations. Again, all are welcome including foreign residents. As we go along, all the details will be posted online on the following group where you can register starting now.

A short promo of the Egyptian team. They won 4th place overall last year and were on their way for a similar result this year until they had an accident the last day and were forced to withdraw from the race.

Just before Pyramids Rally 2008, Abouyoussef partnered with Toyota Egypt for a long term sponsorship. The common goals include promoting Rally Sport in Egypt, improving results in the International rallies held in Egypt and representing Egypt abroad in the major international rallies of the world. Details of the partnership were announced in a press conference on June 22nd, 2008.
